The Advisory Relationship

Client Experience

A clear, disciplined process from the first conversation forward.

Beginning an advisory relationship should feel organized, transparent, and deliberate. Build Capital's client experience is designed to help prospective clients understand where they are today, what decisions deserve attention, and whether there is a clear basis for working together.

The Process

What to expect

01

Introductory Conversation

The first conversation is designed to understand your situation, priorities, concerns, and what prompted you to seek guidance. No extensive preparation is required. The goal is simply to determine whether there may be a mutual fit.

02

Capital Alignment Review

Build Capital reviews your current portfolio structure, objectives, risk exposure, liquidity needs, retirement timeline, and planning priorities. This review helps identify whether your capital is aligned with the outcomes you are trying to achieve.

03

Portfolio & Planning Review

If there is a reason to continue, Build Capital takes a deeper look at investment allocation, account structure, concentration risk, tax-aware considerations, cash needs, income planning, and areas where coordination with other professionals may be helpful.

04

Strategic Design

Build Capital develops a disciplined portfolio and planning framework based on your objectives, risk tolerance, liquidity needs, time horizon, and long-term priorities. The goal is to create structure before making major decisions.

05

Implementation & Coordination

When appropriate, Build Capital helps implement the agreed-upon strategy and may coordinate with CPAs, attorneys, tax professionals, custodians, and other advisers. Client assets remain in the client's name and are held with an independent third-party custodian.

06

Ongoing Oversight

The advisory relationship continues through regular review, portfolio monitoring, rebalancing when appropriate, risk review, tax-aware coordination, liquidity planning, and adjustments as markets, laws, family priorities, and client needs evolve.

Clarity First

Designed to be clear from the beginning

The first step does not require a transfer of assets or an immediate commitment. It is a structured conversation designed to understand your current position, clarify priorities, and determine whether Build Capital may be able to help.

Client Fit

A relationship built on alignment

Build Capital is best suited for clients who value disciplined oversight, clear communication, long-term structure, and an advisory relationship built around trust, fit, and ongoing stewardship.

  • Professionals approaching retirement
  • Recently retired individuals and families
  • Business owners preparing for liquidity or succession
  • Investors seeking a second opinion
  • Families seeking long-term capital stewardship
  • Investors with concentrated positions or complex portfolio decisions

Expectations

What the experience is not

Build Capital's process is designed to be straightforward and transparent. There are no high-pressure tactics, performance guarantees, or obligations before fit is established.

  • Not a sales presentation
  • Not a performance promise
  • Not a one-size-fits-all model portfolio
  • Not tax or legal advice
  • Not a requirement to transfer assets before fit is determined

The First Step

Begin with clarity

A Capital Alignment Review is designed to help identify where you are today, what matters most, and whether Build Capital may be the right advisory relationship for the next stage of your financial life.
